Club Mailer
What it is
A way for a club to email its own members directly from myCroquet — no CAQ involvement. The club writes an email in the same document editor used across myCroquet, picks who gets it, and sends it. Emails go out through Loops (the same email system CAQ already uses for HOOPLA), but each club's emails carry the club's own name as sender, and replies go straight back to whoever sent it.
Who it serves
Club secretaries and captains who currently have no way to email their whole membership without going through a personal email account or a separate mailing list tool.
How it works
Three ways to choose who gets the email:
* Everyone — every active member with an email address on file. * Pick members — tick individual members from a searchable list. * Groups — save a reusable list (e.g. "Tuesday pennant players") once, reuse it for future emails. Groups always resolve against the current membership list at send time, so someone who has left the club won't get left on a stale list.
Sending is a simple three-step flow: write the email, choose recipients, review and send. A test copy can be sent to the sender's own inbox first. Replies go back to whoever sent the email, so the club manages its own correspondence without any extra inbox to check.
Same document editor already used for meeting minutes and other myCroquet writing, so nothing new to learn there. The three-step compose flow (write → recipients → send) mirrors the pattern already used in the Newsletter module.
How it hits the ideals and aims
Supports Support Clubs (clubs get a real communication tool without needing outside help) and Strengthen Admin & Internal Operations (one less thing secretaries have to improvise with personal email).
The benefit for croquet
Clubs currently rely on personal email accounts or ad-hoc tools to reach their members — inconsistent, easy to lose track of, and tied to one volunteer's inbox. This gives every club professional, reliable email sending under its own name, with no CAQ involvement needed for day-to-day club communication.
