Coaching Clips
What it is
A coach uploads raw session footage; an automated worker repairs the audio, transcribes it, plans the cuts, and turns it into single-topic clips published to CroquetVideos (croquetvideos.com), with a link back in MyCroquet.
Who it serves
Coaches submit (per-person grant); every player who watches the finished clips benefits.
How it works
Eliminates the video-editing volunteer entirely. A 30-minute coaching talk becomes finished topic clips with zero human editing time. Built for a trickle of one or two jobs a week, and by Wade's explicit decision it runs fully automatically, with a verification check as the only gate.
- A coach with the grant opens the module and uploads footage.
- Wait. The clip publishes to CroquetVideos automatically.
- A download link appears back in MyCroquet.
How it hits the ideals and aims
Develop skilled play is the whole purpose here. Keep it simple: upload the footage, the rest happens. Aims: 5 Develop Skilled Play, 6 Encourage Innovative Ideas.
The benefit for croquet
Coaching knowledge that would otherwise sit in raw footage becomes shareable, ad-free instructional clips for the whole state.
Results so far
Built and hardened 7 July 2026 through two independent reviews, which caught and fixed real publishing bugs. A live test produced a coherent 71-second clip that plays correctly on phones. No real coach jobs yet.
Status: built, awaiting go-live (grant coaches, then flip on), Wade's call. As at 2026-07-11.
