Decisions (committee voting)

What it is

Committee voting between meetings. An admin raises a round of question cards, each carrying its background information; committee members are emailed a direct link and vote inside MyCroquet; the round produces a meeting brief and feeds the decision register.

Who it serves

CAQ admin creates the rounds; committee members vote. Positions are gathered out of meeting to feed the meeting, not as binding circular resolutions.

How it works

Decisions stop waiting a month for the next meeting, and the brief and register write themselves. Each card offers a graded response (quick default, simple yes/no, formal motion, or decline to answer), with the background always one click away, so a member never votes blind.

1. An email from hello@croquetqld.org links straight to the round (log in on the way).
2. For each card, read the background if needed and pick your position.
3. When the admin closes the round, the outcomes become a meeting brief automatically.

The benefit for croquet

A faster committee decision cycle and a permanent register of what was decided and why. This is a working part of the broader governance reform program.

Results so far

Live since 8 July 2026, verified end to end including a real email. A demonstration round of 10 questions ran on the trial site. The first real round waits on the committee member list.

A wider review on 11 July 2026 confirmed the boundary between committee members and CAQ admin holds at every layer, and fixed seven smaller issues in how votes were counted and validated (duplicate votes, out-of-range answers, voting after the deadline, duplicate questions in one round). The fixes are ready and tested but not yet turned on for the live site, pending the go-ahead. A short how-to video for committee members was also made, showing how to answer a round of questions.
