Grants
What it is
Funding programs for clubs in one place: browse curated grants with live round status, look up the club's local MPs, and, in later phases, register club needs and use a grounded application-writing wizard that never invents facts.
Who it serves
Club committees chasing facility and equipment funding. Pilot clubs will be chosen at launch. It supersedes the standalone grants portal at grants.croquetwade.com.
How it works
Replaces hours of scanning council, state and federal grant sites. A weekly automated watcher sweeps 9 grant programs and 17 council areas and pushes verified alerts through three channels (email, ClubHub, the HOOPLA grants corner). The wizard drafts answers from the club's own rough words and flags gaps instead of making things up.
- Open Grants and browse the cards, filtered by level and status.
- Open a grant for eligibility, round dates and tips.
- Check your local MP contacts before applying.
- Later phases: answer the wizard's questions one screen at a time and receive a drafted application.
How it hits the ideals and aims
Hit our aims: purposeful applications for real money rather than wishful form-filling. Keep it simple: the watching and drafting are done for the club. Aims: 4 Support Clubs, 1 Strengthen Admin, 6 Encourage Innovative Ideas.
The benefit for croquet
More clubs applying for real funding (Gambling Community Benefit Fund, federal programs and the like) with correct, source-traced applications, which means more money reaching lawns, equipment and facilities.
Results so far
The browse-and-status module reached staging on 5 July 2026 with 9 grants seeded and MP lookup covering 41 clubs. The weekly watcher is live (Mondays) and its first sweep found one real lead. The first fully-verified application question set (GCBF, 15 questions) passed the automated checking gate on 11 July 2026.
Status: on trial (staging); the weekly watcher and club alerts already run live. Needs register, wizard interface and launch to come. As at 2026-07-11.
