Handicap

What it is

The member handicap system for both GC and AC. Players see their own handicap, history and trend charts; club captains submit index changes; CAQ gets validation, flagging of unusual jumps, and a full audit trail.

Who it serves

Players (My Handicap), club captains (Member Handicaps), and CAQ's state handicapping people (history and admin review).

How it works

Replaces paper cards and spreadsheet chasing. Captains submit changes in the portal, automatic checking does what a volunteer handicapper otherwise does by hand, and the audit trail replaces manual record keeping.

  1. Player: log in, open My Handicap, see your stats and trend.
  2. Captain: open Member Handicaps, pick the player, submit the change; the system validates and records it.

How it hits the ideals and aims

Keep it simple: the checking is automatic, the volunteer only sees what needs a human. Hit our aims: one trusted state record. Aims: 5 Develop Skilled Play, 1 Strengthen Admin.

The benefit for croquet

One trustworthy state-wide handicap record instead of scattered club records: fewer disputes, and accurate seeding for events.

Results so far

Not yet measured on the live site. The system ran on the earlier beta with validation, audit and admin review confirmed working.
