Newsletter

What it is

Self-serve creation of the HOOPLA email newsletter inside MyCroquet. The AI drafts an edition from recent news-site articles, the editor adjusts it, sends a test to themselves, then sends to the membership list.

Who it serves

Volunteer newsletter editors. Today only Wade and CroquetClaude can produce a send; this module hands that to any editor CAQ trusts with the grant.

How it works

Removes the technical side of newsletter production entirely. No email templates, no mailing-list software, no scripts. Drafting from existing articles cuts production time by roughly three quarters, so the editor's job becomes choosing and polishing, not building.

  1. Click Create. The AI drafts an edition from recent articles.
  2. Click any text to edit it, or type a plain instruction like "swap the second story".
  3. Send a test email to yourself and check it.
  4. Confirm Send to members.

How it hits the ideals and aims

Keep it simple: a newsletter becomes four clicks instead of a technical project. Cooperate for croquet: more hands can share the communication load. Aims: 2 Promote Croquet Externally, 3 Grow & Engage Members, 1 Strengthen Admin.

The benefit for croquet

Regular member communication becomes sustainable without one person being the bottleneck. Members keep seeing what CAQ does for them, in a consistent format with working links.

Results so far

First real edition sent through the module end to end on 3 July 2026: "Lumps in your lawn" went to 1,319 members. The membership list now syncs automatically every 6 hours.

Status: built and proven, on trial (staging). Turning it on for editors is Wade's call. As at 2026-07-11.
