MyCroquet Wiki / Live now
Newsroom (curation)
What it is
The editorial back office for CAQ's news. Curators review submitted stories on one page: read, edit, approve, reject or archive, before they appear on the public news site at news.croquetqld.org.
Who it serves
Curators and CAQ admin. Wade runs it through the rollout, with handover to volunteer curators intended.
How it works
A volunteer curator needs no publishing-system training and no second login. The queue, a full editor, search across submitted and published stories, and one-click verdicts all live on the one MyCroquet page. Edits to a published article are staged safely, so a live story can never be accidentally broken during review.
- Log in as a curator and open the review queue.
- Click a story; read or edit it in place, with changes to published articles shown word by word.
- Approve to publish, or reject with feedback to the author.
How it hits the ideals and aims
Keep it simple: everything editable through the one page. Enjoy croquet: club stories get told. Aims: 2 Promote Croquet Externally, 3 Grow & Engage Members.
The benefit for croquet
A steady, quality-controlled flow of stories onto the public news site without a paid editor.
Results so far
The news backend it feeds carries around 208 published articles. The review page itself was rebuilt to Wade's direction and deployed 10 July 2026; it is waiting on the first real member and guest submissions.
Status: live (curator grant). As at 2026-07-11.
