Treasurer

What it is

A cash-accounting bookkeeper for club treasurers. The treasurer sends everything (bank statements, receipts, cash notes) to one place and never classifies anything themselves. The module keeps the ledger and produces the annual documents that Level 3 incorporated associations are legally required to prepare (Associations Incorporation Act 1981 Qld, ss.59A to 59AB).

Who it serves

Club treasurers. The design was shaped around the real duty list supplied by Helen David, CAQ Treasurer.

How it works

Removes transaction classification, reconciliation and end-of-year statement assembly, the jobs that make treasurer the hardest committee role to fill. Its core rule is never silently guess: anything ambiguous comes back as a one-tap question to the treasurer instead of a wrong entry.

1. Email or forward bank statements, receipts and cash notes to the one intake address.
2. Answer the occasional one-tap question when something is ambiguous.
3. Collect the generated reports and annual documents.

The benefit for croquet

Clubs get correct, legally-required annual financial statements without needing an accountant-grade volunteer, which lowers the succession risk when a treasurer steps down.

Results so far

Live on my.croquetqld.org since 12 July 2026. Not yet used by a club — the module is switched on per person, so it stays invisible until a real club's treasurer is granted access. Built and verified: bank statement import (CSV and PDF) with an automatic balance check against what the bank reports, one-tap categorisation questions, monthly reports and the full annual document pack a Level 3 incorporated association must prepare (income and expenditure, assets and liabilities, the signed verification statement, remuneration disclosure, lodgement checklist). 910 automated tests plus a full staging walkthrough passed before go-live.
