Oxford Croquet Library

The Oxford Croquet library (resources/oxford-croquet/) is one of the most comprehensive croquet knowledge resources in English. Eight sub-collections covering coaching, laws, equipment, lawn care, club management, promotions, health and safety, and tournament management.

All articles are written for UK conditions — temperate climate, cool-season grasses, UK regulations. Apply judgement when using for QLD: the croquet technique is universal, but lawn care and legal references need local adaptation.

The eight collections

Collection What it covers QLD notes
Coaching All levels of AC coaching — technique, breaks, tactics, practice Fully applicable
Laws & Refereeing AC laws explained, refereeing procedures Fully applicable
Equipment Mallets, balls, hoops — selection and maintenance Mostly applicable
Lawn Care Court construction and maintenance (33 articles) QLD adaptation required — see Oxford References
Club Management Committee, communications, events, disputes Mostly applicable
Promotions Marketing and promoting croquet clubs Useful reference, supplements the Digital Marketing collection
Health & Safety Player welfare, warm-up, injury prevention Fully applicable
Tournament Management Running tournaments — draws, referees, results Fully applicable

How to use it

The Oxford articles are written as individual standalone pieces. Browse by sub-collection or search within the folder. There is no master index — the sub-collection folder structure is the navigation.

For lawn care specifically: always cross-reference with the QLD Lawn Care collection first. The Oxford articles tell you the principles; the QLD collection tells you what actually applies here.
